Anne wrote of her experiences when she was hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands which was for a period of about 2 years. She died in May 1945 in a concentration camp and her father who was the only surviving member of the family found her diary after the war and had them published. Due to her high quality writing her diary has become one of the most popular books in the whole world and has been turned into a number of plays and movies.She was very brave through the most challenging experience and I have a lot of respect for her.
