Last Night

Last night
There was a letter I wanted to write
About things I couldn’t just let go
About things I needed to know
About things I gave but never received
About things I heard but never believed
I wanted to know why my life is holy
And at the same time, it’s so lonely
I wanted to know why my foundation is so strong
And still everything is going wrong
I wanted to know why I pray so much
But yet to get just one touch
I wanted to write to no man
But to whom it may concern
And then, Last night
I dreamt of a man in white
He appeared to me in a bright shining light
His garment looked so expensive
His beauty was very attractive
He called me from where I was sitting
I can’t explain the rate at which my heart was beating
He noticed my fear
He came for me right there
He stopped right in front of me
His presence killed the fear in me
He stretched forth his hand
And brought me to a stand
He gave me warm embrace
And put a smile on my face
He told me just one thing
That unraveled all my mysteries
He said for his glory, I’ll be a perfect emblem
And that was the statement that solved all my problems.
