Those Brave Soldiers
by Daniel Hearn
(London)
Standing there on patrol,
Those four people whose lives were stolen,
It started as they drove a truck,
Not knowing they had run out of luck,
There they drove without a worry,
Little did they know they would be sorry,
Driving around in the night,
Without a single street light,
But without any warning at all,
A bomb went off to their downfall,
They had no chance to stay alive,
Three dead husbands and one dead wife,
They died doing what they loved,
Without having to be pushed or shoved,
Their families remain still scared,
For their lost loves who really cared,
They would never cause a fuss,
Those brave soldiers who died for us.
