Turn the world around

Treading across this murky world,
Of morals crushed and truths betrayed,
My mind ventures into the forbidden realms,
Of glories lost and virtues shunned

The world today is a horror filled place,
Troubled, self-centered and a hopeless race.
Glorious tales are seldom heard,
Of happy lands, golden sun and beautiful birds.

There is violence, war and growing strife,
Very few care about human lives.
People destroy in the name of race, faith and creed,
Humanity has fled and all that remains is greed.

Poverty, diseases prevalent around the globe
Children perishing in hunger & people losing hope
Little food and clothing to share,
Insufficient medical care.

At times though, amidst the worrisome globe,
I see a glimpse of shining hope,
Here and there, at a frenzied rate,
People scurrying with goals delayed.

Someone, rising to the challenge, issues a call.
Someone trying to save the world,
Rectify the scene,
Save us all.

Wake up soon and make amends,
Do your part and change the trend.
In unity, our troubles will gradually abate,
All is not lost yet,arise and bloom – it’s not too late!
